After directing Love Lockdown last year, Manny Palo shared why it was a new experience for him to direct the new iWant TFC project, Click, Like, Share. The anthology presents four stories of teens whose lives depend on social media to express themselves and to connect with others, but later on it invites danger into their lives when they start using it recklessly. Aside from Gold Squad members Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin, the project also launches the acting careers of Squad Plus members Jimuel Pacquiao, Danica Ontengco, Nio Tria, and Renshi De Guzman.

“At first it was a challenge kasi we had to finish one episode in a day. Siyempre I didn’t have that much time to help them when it comes to their acting pero we had a online workshop and then there was someone who helped me, an acting coach para tulungan sila sa kanilang role and masaya naman ako kasi during the editing stage nakita ko naman that they delivered the work and they really did their best. May mga assignments ang mga yan before going to the set eh, may mga pinagagawa na assignments, written assignments to prepare them to study their character,” he shared.

“Kasi siyempre yung apat they have the experience so para naman mapantay, mag-level up, kailangan din sila tutukan and all. And sina Danica, Nio, and Renshi naman they were quite serious. Ginawa nila yung pinapagawa namin sa kanila and during the shoot itself I really devoted time para matulungan sila not only para sa ikagaganda ng eksena pero hopefully so it will help them, the lesson they learned from me kung meron man akong na-impart, to help them in their future projects.

“Kasi ang aspiration naman nila is to become good actors. To really last in the industry you have to be good kasi. Anyone can be a star now sa social media so competition is really, really stiff. Kailangan talaga armed ka eh in order to last,” he explained.

“Ang maganda sa kanya is he’s very receptive and he’s smart. Matalino siya. During our earlier discussions we presented the material to him and then nung mga succeeding meetings namin we were discussing his character, ang sharp niya magtanong. I feel like he’s really doing his assignments and taking them very seriously. Kaya dumating siya sa set and then ready and prepared. Ang nakakatuwa sa kanya is he’s very quiet, very simple. He has no complex at all. Anak siya ni Manny Pacquiao pero hindi mo mararamdaman sa kanya that he’s entitled, ganun. And he didn’t ask for anything special treatment on the set. Nakita ko sa kanya yung seriousness and he’s quite serious in person. Ganun siya,” he revealed.
