Newcomer Angelica Lao joins showbiz as part of Squad Plus

After being launched as part of <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/squadplus" target="_blank">Squad Plus</a> this year, Angelica Lao shared her first reaction after finding out she was selected to be part of the group which was originally just known as the Gold Squad composed of Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin. “Kinabahan talaga ako kasi wala akong idea kung ano yung Squad Plus. Ang alam ko lang kasi yung Gold Squad. Tapos nung nalaman ko na dun na ako parang na-excite na at sobrang saya ko talaga kasi yung mga kasama ko hindi ko pa kilala tapos naging friends kaming lahat. Actually nalaman ko sa kuya ko yung music.ly tapos nung nag-ti-TikTok na older brother nag-gain siya ng followers tapos parang na-enganyo ako na parang gusto ko siyang i-try. Tapos meron akong isang video dun na nag-reach siya ng 1.6M na views tapos na-enganyo nako na laging mag-post. Nung 2020 doon medyo hindi na ako nag-po-post kasi may mga problem na dumating,” she explained.<div><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edw_k9g9I48" target="_blank">WATCH: The Squad+ Media Launch | May 3, 2021</a></div>With her first project being the upcoming new Kapamilya series Marry Me, Marry You, Angelica said she is more than ready to start their lock-in taping this month. “Super pinaghandaan ko siya and super excited ako na magkaroon ng first teleserye ever and excited din ako maka-work yung mga veteran actor like sila ate Janine (Gutierrez), si kuya Paulo (Avelino) and marami pang iba,” she said.
