Angel Locsin and Neil Arce share details about their ‘simple pero rock’ wedding

<p>After surprising everyone with their civil wedding ceremony officiated by Mayor Lino Cayetano at the Taguig City Hall last August 7, Angel Locsin and Neil Arce shared more details about the whirlwind planning that went on before the ceremony.</p><p>“Kami lang siguro yung bride and groom na pumila sa elevator bago ikasal. May pila sa elevator, siyempre apat apat lang dahil pandemic. Dala dala niya bouquet niya. Hinihintay namin yung elevator hanggang time na namin umakyat,” Neil recalled in their recent vlog titled “Our Civil Wedding” posted on The Angel and Neil Channel on YouTube. </p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2021/8/7/fresh-scoops/angel-locsin-and-neil-arce-get-married-195076" target="_blank"><u><strong>READ: Angel Locsin and Neil Arce get married</strong></u></a></div><p>After getting engaged in 2019, the couple originally set their wedding date for November 2020 which eventually got postponed because of the ongoing pandemic. </p><p>“Actually 2019, a week before Father’s day, right after ko bilhin yung ring pumunta ako agad sa daddy niya. Sabi ko, ‘Daddy mag-po-proprose ako.’ Akala niya business proposal. Pero nung sinabi na wedding proposal sabi niya, ‘Ay good, good!’ so nawala kagad yung burden sa shoulders ko dahil sa sinabi ng daddy niya.</p><p>“After two or three weeks nakahanap na kami ng venue, wedding planner, team. Nung medyo set na lahat. May plano na kami lumipad ng Finland para mag-prenup shoot, biglang tumama yung pandemic. Next month din dapat aalis kami na-cancel din. Sabi namin, ‘Parang ayaw talaga kaming pag-prenup shoot. Magpakasal na tayo.’ Madami pala kaming kailangan ayusin na paperwork. Angel Locsin shares details about the road to marriage with Neil Arce</strong></u></a></div><p>Angel said that she has no regrets about how she and Neil tied the knot.</p><p>“Kung ano man ang mangyari sa wedding na ‘to, may personal touch namin. It’s very intimate, it’s very simple, it’s very us. Nung nag-decide na kami magpakasal, ang unang nakaalam yung ate ko. Yung isang kapatid ko nakaalam,” she said.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2020/9/16/fresh-scoops/look-angel-locsin-wows-with-new-look-188250" target="_blank"><u><strong>LOOK: Angel Locsin wows with new look</strong></u></a></div><p>With less than a dozen people present at their wedding, Neil revealed why they did not want to plan with much fanfare, even opting to buy the outfits they wore to the ceremony from the mall just days before and borrowing the groom’s ring at the ceremony from Neil’s teenage son Joaquin.</p><p>“Wala kaming dalang singsing. Nag-usap naman kami na we were going to save some moments na mangyayari sa Christian wedding na first time pa rin para kahit papaano raw. Pagdating namin dun, unang tanong sa amin ni mayor, ‘Ready na ba yung vows niyo?’ Nagkatinginan kami. Wala kasi kaming vows. Wala rin kaming singsing ang ginamit namin yung engagement ring niya. Ako, buti na lang yung anak ko medyo rocker nakasingsing. Sabi ko, ‘Let me borrow your ring.’ Sabi niya sa akin, ‘You can use this first’ (laughs). Pinayagan lang kami magtanggal ng mask dun sa ‘You may kiss the bride,’” he recalled.</p><p>Also present at the ceremony was Angelo Colmenares, Angel’s 94-year-old father who shared that one of his wishes for the couple was to give him a grandchild. For their wedding reception after the ceremony, Angel requested for e simple garden reception of milk tea, fries, fishball, and kikiam from her older sister Ella.</p><p>“Wala kaming videographer so ang makikita niyong video dito is kay kuya Boyet (Ahmee, Dimples Romana’s husband) or ng kapatid ko. Hindi kasi kami mahilig mag-picture picture talaga.
