If he hadn’t run for the mayoral seat in Pasig City, Vico Sotto shared that he would have pursued a career as a professor.

In an interview with the Department of Education via Facebook Live, Vico relayed that he actually became a professor at Arellano University for a short period of time before he ran for mayor.

"Sandali lang naman 'yun sa Arellano University. One sem lang 'yun kasi tumakbo na akong mayor. Kung hindi ako tumakbong mayor, tinuloy-tuloy ko 'yun. Isa talaga 'yun sa mga gusto kong gawin," he said.

He further relayed that he was teaching social science and political science topics to undergraduate students that time.

Vico earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the Ateneo de Manila University in 2011. He pursued a Master of Arts in Public Management at the Ateneo School of Government later on and graduated in 2018.

He ran for mayor in 2019 in Pasig and won the position.
