Singer-actress Geneva Cruz is set to release her first song in eight years entitled "Sinungaling."

On Instagram, the former Smokey Mountain member shared the good news with her fans and followers as she posted teaser photos and videos for her new single.

"Ten days to go before the release of my new single after an eight-year break in the recording scene. Excited na 'ko!" wrote Geneva in one of her posts.

According to Geneva, "Sinungaling" is composed and produced by Junji Arias. Its music video was directed by Jeffrey Hidalgo, with cinematography by Dustin Uy and styling by her and Rachel Alejandro.

"Sinungaling" will be released this coming October 1, under Curve Entertainment.

The track is Geneva's newest release after her 2015 album To Manila, which includes the songs "To Manila", "Beautiful", "Kapag Ako'y Umibig", and "Iwanan Mo Na Siya."

While Geneva hasn't released a song in years, the 45-year-old singer hasn't stopped showcasing her talent in singing and performing. Most recently, she was seen as one of the celebrity performers in the third season of ABS-CBN's singing and impersonation competition Your Face Sounds Familiar.

Prior to joining the show, Geneva lived abroad for many years. Previously, Geneva said she was only just supposed to give birth in America but had to stay there to take care of her son Heaven who was battling depression.

In an interview with Rappler in August 2020, Geneva confirmed that she is back in the Philippines for good.

"I’m back for good. A better, stronger, and wiser version of me. Hope people could embrace me back because I’ve really missed performing for them," she said.
