Oscar De La Hoya withdraws from upcoming boxing match after contracting COVID

<p>Oscar De La Hoya revealed via Instagram that he contracted COVID-19 and he won&#x27;t be able to attend his boxing match with Vitor Belfort on September 11.</p><p>&quot;Wanted you to hear directly from me that despite being fully vaccinated, I have contracted Covid and am not going to be able to fight next weekend,&quot; Oscar posted on social media.</p><p>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that vaccine breakthrough cases are to be expected especially in light of new variants of COVID-19. “However, there is evidence that vaccination may make illness less severe for those who are vaccinated and still get sick. The risk of infection, hospitalization, and death are all much lower in vaccinated compared to unvaccinated people,” it explained.</p><p>The 10-time world champion extended his gratitude to those who
