Squid Game' actor O Yeong-su becomes first Korean actor to win a Golden Globe

Squid Game star O Yeong-su won the Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Series, Limited Series, or Television Movie award at this year's Golden Globes.

He is the first South Korean actor to win a Golden Globe. award at this year's Golden Globes.

The 77-year-old Squid Game actor bested fellow nominees Kieran Culkin of Succession, Brett Goldstein of Ted Lasso, and Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass of The Morning Show. award at this year's Golden Globes.

The actor expressed his gratitude and elation after winning the award. “After hearing the news of the award, I told myself, ‘I’m a decent guy,’ for the first time in my life. Now, it’s no longer ‘us within the world,’ but it’s ‘the world within us.’ While embracing the scent of our culture and while embracing the love for my family deep in my heart, I give thanks to everyone in the world. I hope you all live beautiful lives. Thank you," he said in a statement via Netflix as reported by Naver and as translated by Soompi.
