Karen Davila helps Badjao Girl undergo medical checkup, surprises her with PHP50K worth of baby products

<p>Karen Davila fulfilled the wish of Rita Gaviola, popularly known as &quot;Badjao Girl,&quot; to undergo medical checkup. </p><p>It can be recalled that in Karen’s previous YouTube vlog, Rita shared that she wanted to see a doctor as she had been feeling a lump in her body. </p><p>&quot;Finally dinala na po natin siya para magpa-check-up. At hindi lang &#x27;yun malapit na ang pasko kaya may surpresa din tayo para sa kanya at sa kanyang baby,&quot; Karen said in a new YouTube vlog she uploaded on Saturday, October 8. </p><p>Karen brought Rita to her OB-GYN, Dr. Jenny Jose, to have a consultation. Rita shared with Dr. Jenny that she had been feeling a lump on her left chest.  </p><p>Afterward, Rita underwent a series of medical tests. Following the checkup, Karen brought Rita to a mall and surprised Rita with PHP50,000 worth of baby products from a local mall. </p><p>&quot;Matapos ang checkup with Rita, may surpresa naman ako sa kanya. Alam natin gaano kahirap ang buhay niya and &#x27;yung stress na naramdaman niya sa check-up. First we did &#x27;yung pap smear mo, we got some samples and it turned out to be normal. So that&#x27;s okay,” Dr. Jenny told Rita.</p><p>She added: And then remember conscious ka regarding sa breast, but you know itong maganda result natin, what is good, there are no enlarged mass or cyst so probably &#x27;yung nangyaring meron ka nakapa before it was just physiologic, phase lang &#x27;yun sa hormones mo. Sobrang happy ako, hindi ko alam paano sabihin pero sobrang saya po ng puso ko at dahil po sa iyo &#x27;yun ma&#x27;am Karen na nakapagpa-check-up ako so sobrang thank you po ma&#x27;am lalo na sa mga meeting Rita. </p><p>&quot;That moment, bilang isang ina, nakahinga nang maluwag si Rita na ngayon alam niya wala siyang sakit at mapalaki niya ang anak niya nang maayos. Which is you know what, which also teaches us na kapag may nararamdaman kayo mag-pacheck-up, humingi kayo ng tulong kasi huwag na natin patagalin pa,” Karen said.</p><p>“But if there if there is one thing na I love about the story of Rita, dati po siyang namamalimos sa kalye and ito na ngayon may sariling pamilya, kumikita ng pera, may pag-asa,&quot; she added.</p>
