Asian artists collaborate to promote mental well-being

<p>Five up and coming Asian artists––Trisha Denise, LU.ME, KIRI, kotoji, and Marian Carmel––used their talent in singing to advocate for mental health. In their latest extended play (EP) titled <em>My Safe Place</em>, the five talented artists collaborated to share the different journeys each have gone through.</p><blockquote class="instagram-media" Singapore-based creative production house AOR Global, was launched last October 7. The EP seeks to advocate mental health and tells a story and journey of acknowledgement, acceptance, belief, and hope.</p><p>For the artists, they all share the belief that music plays a significant role in the space of mental wellbeing. Kahit na may ‘cracks’ tayo, let’s just enjoy the journey,” Denise shared about her song “Cracks”.</p><p>Meanwhile, KIRI revealed that her song “Get Well Soon” serves as a gentle reminder that everything will be okay as the challenges one faces are only temporary. Singaporean artist kotoji gave tribute to her friends who were struggling in her song “Survive”. She wanted to uplift her friends and send encouragement to them through her single.</p><p>Even though the title of her song is “Surrender”, Filipina artist LU.ME shared that there are times in life when one has to surrender. According to her, surrendering is not a sign of weakness but rather, a sign of strength.</p><p>For Marian, she dedicated her song, “Wish That I Could Tell Me”, to her nine year-old self who just found out back then that she was suffering from panic disorder. The lyrics to her song is just an ode for her younger self.</p><p>The project is co-produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo and Star Pop label head Rox Santos. <em>My Safe Place</em> is now available and can now be streamed on various digital streaming platforms.</p>

These girls are doing their part in making mental health a necessary topic in Asia.
