In the ninth episode of Drag Race Philippines which aired last Wednesday, October 6, drag queen Minty Fresh was eliminated from the show. Following her elimination, the stage was set for the four remaining queens for the season finale of the show.

During the episode, they were given the task to do a music video to “Champion” by RuPaul. With the first season coming to an end, the queens had the opportunity to converse with the panel about their Drag Race Philippines journey.

Veteran host and guest judge Boy Abunda made sure to tell Minty that it looked like she was allowing other queens to steal the limelight from her.

“You’re beautiful but I needed to see how you celebrated that. Sabi ko, ba’t hindi niya mayakap yun. I don’t think you should allow anybody to steal that from you,” Boy shared.

Minty landed in the bottom two alongside Xilhouete and had to perform “You’ll Always Be My Number One” by Vernie Varga. The latter won the lip sync battle and successfully joined the other queens in the season finale.

Netizens shared how the lip sync battle of the two was very emotional as they pointed at each other while singing the lyrics “you’ll always be my number one.”

Meanwhile, Boy complimented the work of Marina Summers in the last challenge and felt that she stood out among the five of them. Marina bested them and won––tying herself with Xilhouete and Minty with two wins in the season.

“The very first time that I saw you in the video, that was a champion. I kept on watching and I realized, you know your boundaries and nobody gets into that boundary. I like the sense of ‘this is where I stand and you better look at me.’ That is a winner owning that space," he complimented.

Drag Race Philippines streams on HBO Go, Discovery Plus PH, and WOW Presents Plus.
