EXCLUSIVE: Albie Casiño admits he’s ready for fatherhood

<p>It may have taken three long years to finish work on the Viva Films project <em>Call Me Papi, </em>but actor Albie Casiño said it has been worth the wait. Portraying the character helped Albie realize that he is actually ready for fatherhood in real life as well. </p><p>“Actually nung nag-start yung film nung 2019, hindi pa (ako ready). Pero ang daming nangyari eh. You know what I mean? In a span of three years, a lot of things can happen. Like now, a lot of my friends already have kids. So now like I’m thinking about it and yeah parang puwede (laughs). I don’t know. I don’t mind.</p><p>“Of course there are a lot of things na would be a hassle like for example, I wouldn’t want the media having a feast over my child, you know what I mean? Inevitable naman yun because I’m an actor. Of course, I can’t pick and choose the things that come with this life, di ba? I know for a fact that if I have a kid, a lot of people will be talking about the child. It’s not something I want to bring up my offspring in,” he explained to PUSH during an exclusive interview at the <em>Call Me Papi </em>presscon.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2021/11/14/fresh-scoops/albie-casino-on-his-initial-pbb-experience-i-rea-196865"><strong><u>READ: Albie Casino on his initial PBB experience: ‘I really hated it there’</u></strong></a></div><p>Albie revealed he is currently dating a non-showbiz foreigner he met earlier this year while on vacation in Boracay.</p><p>“We’ve been dating for seven months na. Fairly new pa rin. We met in Boracay. Medyo maganda yung track record ko sa Bora (laughs). My last girlfriend before my girlfriend now I also met her in Boracay and she’s also a foreigner so funny lang,” he admitted.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2021/11/2/fresh-scoops/albie-casino-opens-up-having-adhd-196669"><strong><u>READ: Albie Casiño opens up about having ADHD</u></strong></a></div><p>The <em>Call Me Papi</em> star also shared why he now prefers to date foreigners rather than Pinoys.</p><p>“Number one is, yung opener ko when they ask what do I do, I say I’m a social media manager for influencers and artists in the Philippines (laughs). That’s what I say. So when someone asks for pictures and she asks, ‘Why do they know you?’ And I say, ‘Oh they see me on some of my client’s posts (laughs).’ Parang it’s nice to talk to someone na wala silang preconceived notion of you. Siguro yung quality na nakita ko sa kanya is she’s very genuine and the way she reacts lang to the things that happened, yung bashing and stuff, so I saw how she handled that and from what I saw I know she’s a quality person,” he said.</p><p>Unlike his previous relationships, Albie said he does not mind being in a long distance relationship now with the right person.</p><p>“Kakaalis lang niya actually. She left two weeks ago and then she comes back on December 13, I think. Siguro the fact that I’m older na rin kaya nagbago na ako unlike before the physical proximity was important tapos pag malayo hassle. But right now, I’m in a point in my life where I think differently,” he added.<em></em></p><p><em>Call Me Papi</em> is directed by Alvin Yapan for Viva Films. It opens in theaters on December 7.</p>
