Actress Shaina Magdayao made her return to the ASAP Natin ‘To stage in its December 11 episode, after eight years of her hiatus from the noontime variety show. The OG dance sweetheart made sure the viewers know she still has the groove as she danced to the song “Girl Like Me” by Black Eyed Peas and Shakira.

Shaina expressed her gratitude on her Instagram account and thanked everyone who helped her in her comeback peformance.

Shaina shared that dancing has been one of the biggest parts of her showbiz career. The performer looked back at the time she just started dancing on the ASAP stage when she was just 13 years old.

“A huuuuge part of my 25 years in the industry is my being a dancer so that makes me an official baby of @asapofficial and @gforce_official. Started dancing on the ASAP stage when I was 13, trained every week by my dance mentor @teachergeorcelle,” she recalled.

The 33-year-old celebrity is grateful that she could go back to the dance floor after years of her hiatus due to her Hypothyroidism. Shaina was forced to quit back then but is now glad she has a healthier body.

“Looking back, it really was a gift, my fate. But 8 years ago, I had to quit and give up on that gift, that fate and reality, my being a dancer because I got diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.:( ...and so I just focused on being an actress since I NEVER thought I'd be healthy enough to dance again,” she added.

Netizens praised Shaina on social media for her dancing abilities. They added how much they’ve missed OG dance sweetheart on ASAP.

Shaina thanked her ASAP family for never giving up on her and repeatedly asked when she’ll be on the dance floor again. The actress shared that it was because of them that made her question herself if she could try again.

“Gosh. I feel as if a part of me is alive again!!! THANK YOU FOR WAKING UP THE DANCER IN ME. It is truly an honor to be back on the ASAP stage again. Panginoon, thank you po for a healthy body AND stable hormones. May I not mishandle and take these answered prayers for granted. I am humbled. I am grateful. Learning, growing and evolving again. Back on the ASAP stage,” she shared.
