Kaila Estrada is thankful to be given the opportunity to topbill the three-part finale episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) titled "Scarlet Women".

“I am so grateful to MMK especially this last episode, it is such a blessing for me. I am still overwhelmed but I am so grateful to be part of this episode to bring the curtains down for MMK,” she said in an interview with Star Magic Inside News.

She added, “So thank you for MMK, ma’am Charo (Santos) and sa lahat nang bumubuo ng MMK. Salamat for the trust and this opportunity kasi hinding-hindi ko ‘to makakalimutan and also I am excited for everybody to watch the last part kasi parang feeling ko ito 'yung favorite part ko of the whole episode.”

When asked what her reaction was when she learned that she will be headlining the final episode of the drama anthology, Kaila replied, “I was like, what? Really? Oh my God, alam mo ‘yun, wait lang totoo ba ‘to? Siyempre it is bittersweet, I mean MMK is such an iconic show and it is such a privilege to be even be part of an episode of MMK so let alone to bring the curtains down. It's bittersweet and I don't want MMK to end but unfortunately here it is,” she said.

The actress added, “This episode is for the supporters of MMK for the past 31 years. Thank you guys for all your support and for loving MMK just as much as we do.”

Kaila plays the role of Abby in the "Scarlet Women" episode, a cultural dancer from the Philippines who decided to work in Cyprus to support her family back home.

Asked if there is a part of her character that she could relate to, she said, “Naka-relate ako sa kanya don sa pagiging matapang niya na I feel like at a point in my life or sometimes I don't feel comfortable showing my feelings and being vulnerable towards the people I care about, like my family. Parang hindi ako completely comfortable na maging 100 percent vulnerable because I don't want them to see me breaking down ‘yung ganun.”

“Kailangan kong maging strong, kailangan kong maging matapang kasi I can’t afford to break down. Doon ako naka-relate sa kanya because when she was going through that when she was in Cyprus. Hindi niya sinasabi sa pamilya ‘yung pinagdadaanan niya kasi nga she did not want them to know the she was suffering… It’s hard eh to sometimes show the people you care about na nagsa-suffer ka kasi you don't want them to worry about you. You don't want to be a burden. In that sense naka-relate ako kay Abby.”

Kaila remarked that she is proud of co-star Karina Bautista’s performance in the episode.

“Dito sa MMK, grabe pinakita talaga ni Karina ‘yung husay niya dito and I believe she was able to show a different side of herself and I am so happy for her and so proud of her. She is definitely someone to watch out for,” she stated.

The actress relayed that Karina and her worked hand-in-hand in order to bring the emotions that were needed for the various scenes in the episode.

“With my scenes with Karina, we really leaned on each other sa mga eksena namin together. There were moments when we were preparing together for the scene, nagi-iyakan lang kami talaga. It was nice to feel that emotional support for a scene because it flows so naturally. But the scenes on my own, I would say  the story in itself and Abby's character, I really empathize with her and what she was going through so sa kanya talaga ako humuhugot [ng emotions], kay Abby mismo at kung ano man ‘yung pinagdadaanan niya ng time na ‘yun,” she said.
