Continuing her yearly tradition of visiting a feng shui master this year, Kim Chiu shared what she learned to make the most of the Year of the Water Tiger. In her vlog uploaded last January 30 titled “Chinese New Year Do’s and Don’ts + Preparation + 2022 Forecast from Feng Shui Expert,” Kim headed to Binondo in Manila to consult with feng shui master Johnson Chua.

Dahil alam naman nating malapit na ang chinese new year, at bago pa man natin ito i-celebrate,for today’s vlog I will be sharing with you ang mga Do’s and Don’ts for the year of water tiger!

“Isa sa mga tradition ko ang mag prepare and mag consult sa aking feng shui Master, kaya naman bumisita ako para mas ma guide niya ako at mashare ko din sa inyo ano mga dapat natin paghandaan, and ano ang mga ma-swerte sa taon na to,” Kim wrote in her vlog caption.

The 31-year old kapamilya actress made sure to stock up on her Chinese New Year necessities like a properity basket, wishing papers, and feng shui enhancers.

“Lagi kaming may ganito sa bahay namin talaga always. Hindi ito nawawala pag Chinese New Year sa amin, ang wishing paper! O-order pala ako nito again. Every year, proven and tested, lahat ng pumupunta sa bahay namin nagsusulat kami dito and imposibleng wala sa mga sinulat nila na hindi nagkatotoo. Amazing. Ang dami talagang nagkakatotoo pag sinusulat mo yung mga wish mo dito. Ako meron akong sinulat, nagkatotoo talaga. Nakabili ako ng vacation house. Yearly ko siyang sinusulat dito sa wishing paper and then pag hindi siguro para sa ‘yo or hindi pa,” she admitted.

In her vlog, Kim also showed what she does at home with what she bought along with the do’s and don’ts for the Chinese New Year.

“To activate yung feng shui enhancers you have to light 17 candles, starting with a prayer and set your intentions. 2022 is a interesting year. A year of opportunities, a year of development and also a challenging year. We must never lose hope and pray for good things to come our way. After setting your intentions, use the incense counter-clockwise in order to activate the feng shui enhancers. Here are some Chinese beliefs that are part of our Chinese culture.

No showering allowed on New Year’s day.
No washing of hair as it will wash away your wealth and luck.
Sweeping and throwing out the garbage is not allowed until the fifth day of the New Year.
Hair cut is forbidden before the first seven days of New Year.
Arguing and swearing is also forbidden that it will bring you bad luck.
Taking medicine on the New Year’s day should be avoided to avoid being sick the entire year.
To all the singles out there that want to attract love in 2022, wear brand new red underwear
The wealth sector of the house will be at the northeast and the success direction will be at the north.
The direction that must be avoided would be the west.”

While talking to feng shui master Johnson Chua, he shared the following forecasts:

Year of the Water Tiger
“2022 is an interesting year. It’s a year of opportunities, a year of development. Although ang magiging problem lang natin for this year is that it is also a challenging year kasi medyo hawig siya sa 2020. I can still say that it’s a opportunity year so gusto lang natin i-keep yung positive things pero dapat huwag tayo maging pabaya.”

Lucky and Unlucky Signs
No sign is unlucky. But feng shui expert Johnson Chua warns that it will be a challenging year for those born in the Year of the Monkey (1980, 1992, 2004, 2016) and the Year of the Tiger (1974, 1986, 1998, 2010)

“This year medyo kalaban ng tiger si monkey so kailangan mas maging maingat this year and sa mga tiger para kang nasa spotlight so maraming mga struggle, maraming competition. So dapat huwag ka rin masyadong maging aggressive. The top five lucky signs this year starting with the Year of the Pig (1971, 1995, 1983, 2007, 2019), Year of the Horse (1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014), and the Year of the Rooster (1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017) followed by the Year of the Rabbit (1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011) and the Year of the Snake (1965, 1977, 1980, 2001, 2013)”

Personal forecast for Kim (born in the Year of the Horse)
“That’s one of the top three animal signs so medyo expect natin na this year maganda yung year natin, mataas yung success luck natin ngayon and nag pinakagusto ko sa power ng horse ngayon, meron tayong tinatawag na completion sign. Ang completion sign ay yung mga bagay na inaantay mo, baka this year lumabas na yung sign na yun. At least mas magiging malakas yung influence mo, parang mas lalakas yung recognition sa ‘yo. Prone tayo sa mga careless accidents. Pero wala namang major kasi maganda yung luck natin.”
