“Fortunately I didn’t have any bad experience in high school. I think nung first year second year nag-pi-physical school ako, I was a volleyball player so I was also an athlete. I think everybody knew that I was a volleyball player at that time . And fortunately no experience of being bullied in school, only in real life (laughs). Not in school,” she candidly shared during The Seniors mediacon.

Having attended regular classes during her first two years of high school, Julia said she already knew the value of going through that experience.

“I think half of high school life I was also working already. I remember my first and second year I was there physically for high school. I consider those years also very important formative years. Kumbaga parang yun yung mga years unti-unti binubuo ka bilang tao at bilang dalaga. If I had insecurities or if I was trying to figure myself out in high school, I mean everybody goes through that and I did experience that myself. And I think that’s normal. But I had a good high school experience and I loved high school so much kasi totoo yung sinasabi nila na high school friends are forever and all my high school friends up to this day are still my friends and I still keep in touch with them. It’s one of my favorite years in my life,” she explained.

“Siguro ang highlight ng high school years ko is when I graduated. Kasi I remember yun lang yung rule sa akin ni mommy for me to fully be in show business, her only request was makatapos lang ako ng high school. So I think that was such an important moment for me and for my mom that we shared together kasi natupad ko yung pangarap niya for me. So yung next na lang is college, sana mahanapan natin ng oras yan,” she said.

“Sa pag-aaral my advice is my gosh don’t take a gap year because it’s going to be a gap forever (laughs). After I finished high school I thought I was just going to take a gap year before doing college but you know up until now that’s still something that I wish to do. Education is such a valuable thing. You’re lucky enough and blessed enough if you have it. If you have it, keep it. Isagad mo na yan. You enjoy the opportunity because not everybody gets to have that opportunity. Even I don’t have the time for that right now and I wish I did. Just value your education because sometimes you always joke around na ‘Hindi naman natin gagamitin yan,’ but you’ll be surprised where your education can take you and how it can shape you as a person in the future. So pahalagahan yan,” she added.
