Chesca Garcia sets aside plans to have a fourth child for now

<p>Chesca Garcia got candid about the challenges that she went through in her In vitro fertilization (IVF) journey.</p><p>The actress and her husband Doug Kramer have been trying to have another child through IVF but it failed three times.</p><p>In an interview in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/magandangbuhay"><strong><u><em>Magandang Buhay</em></u></strong></a>, Chesca admitted that the three failed pregnancies through IVF have been particularly hard for her, especially that she is the one carrying the embryo.</p><p>&quot;Kasi ako &#x27;yung nagca-carry eh because in your mind actually, when they put the embryo you are already pregnant, you are just waiting for it to grow and become a baby talaga so I think it&#x27;s very hard for women who are doing IVF and expecting because you have a two-week wait window. Doon sa two weeks na &#x27;yon, you are hoping that your period will not come. Kapag dumating siya ibig sabihin fail siya,&quot; she said.</p><p>Chesca added that it&#x27;s particularly difficult for a woman if the IVF fails because there is an invested emotion already.</p><p>&quot;My last one, my third one, I was really hoping that I was pregnant because I actually missed my period. But when I did the pregnancy (test) I was not pregnant. But I already know the gender of my baby and everything. So it&#x27;s a very hard journey for anyone who&#x27;s doing IVF simply because may wait period. Actually, the last failed one talagang sinabi ko, &#x27;Lord, if you don&#x27;t want us to have a baby anymore please remove the longing and the wanting of having a baby&#x27; because I also want to be obedient to the Lord.&quot;</p><p>Admitting that though she still has that desire to have another child, Chesca said that they are setting aside their baby plans at the moment.</p><p>&quot;Because sometimes things don&#x27;t go as planned because He has a good reason for it. And I also want to be an obedient daughter and follower, di ba? We&#x27;re doing steps to get pregnant again! Chesca&#x27;s been ligated since Gavin... Getting pregnant almost 2 straight years with Scarlett and Gavin took a toll with Chesca&#x27;s body so we decided to have her ligated. But it&#x27;s been 6 years and we did the necessary steps to check if her body is ready and healthy now,&quot; the couple shared on their Team Kramer Facebook page back in 2019.</p>
