As part of Vivamax’s Original new ten-part series Iskandalo, actress Cindy Miranda explained why she feels proud of her latest project.

“That’s actually the goal every time. You can’t settle from the last (kasi magsasawa yung tao sa ‘yo. But sa personality ko din, very competitive ako sa sarili ko. I should do better than my previous movie or film or series. So work hard. I always think na, Hindi okay yung ginawa ko,’ para I can push myself. Ganun ako palagi and I make sure it’s not the same character. So in Iskandalo I make sure I’m something different,” she said during the Iskandalo mediacon.

The former beauty queen, who took home the Miss Tourism crown from the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2013, said doing Iskandalo fulfilled her dream of being able to do action scenes onscreen as she plays a police officer in the digital series.

So this is like my introduction sa pagiging action star wannabe ko kaya tuwang tuwa ako. That’s the something kakaiba dito and of course the drama na hindi mawawala sa akin. I really love doing dramas. And I make sure na kapag dumating ako sa set, go na ako. Ayoko silang pinaghihintay. That’s how I make it easier for everyone. And I feel better kapag mas magaan yung trabaho sa lahat. Because we’re all there to work,” she shared.

To those who are quick to write off her new project as all about the bold scenes, Cindy said she hopes they take the time to watch it first before making a judgment.

“Unang una mali yung haka haka nila kaya kailangan talaga nila panuorin yung Iskandalo dahil hindi mas marami yung hubaran dito. This is a rollercoaster of emotions. So sana ma-appreciate niyo,” she said.

As an actress and beauty queen, Cindy admitted it is important for her to look good, but she said acting more convincingly will take top priority.

“Ako very conscious ako kasi yung trabaho ko kailangan talaga ng physical. Siyempre bilang artista, kahit anong mangyari kailangan laging kaaya aya pa rin yung itsura mo. I think that’s the first thing na tinitingnan ng tao. Pero when it comes to acting, actually ako yung tao na when in the zone na ako, wala na akong pakialam sa sarili ko. Kung magulo man yung buhok ko or no makeup look. Feeling ko mas effective ako kapag pangit ako,” she explained.
