Filipino pop group KAIA has officially released their debut single titled “BLAH BLAH” on Friday, April 8.

The music video was able to garner more than 130,000 views as of this writing, and entered YouTube Philippines’s trending list for music.

Being the sister group of P-pop sensation SB19 as they are both being managed under ShowBT Philippines, KAIA is a five-piece girl group composed of Sophia, Angela, Charice, Charlotte, and Alexa.

According to member Sophia, writing “BLAH BLAH” was a group effort. She said, “Writing ‘BLAH BLAH ‘is somehow easier considering our chemistry has improved a lot since then.”

“We finally learned how to trust each other on a deeper level, hence the making of a song about love. Aside from this, everyone puts their 100% effort into this official debut. Even when one of us gets stuck in writing, the other four members make sure to help out when needed. That being said, our closeness and dedication made us more comfortable and confident in writing ‘BLAH BLAH,’” she added.

Meanwhile, international producer Lee Oh Won, who is said to have worked with Korean pop hit makers Stray Kids, SHINee’s Taemin, and TVXQ, helmed its danceable pop beat. He was the same producer who collaborated with the Philippines’ very own SB19 for their hit single “Go Up,” as well as the song “Love Yours” that was released just last December.

As for the “BLAH BLAH” music video, it was described as “a stark contrast between the dream world and the reality.” In a press release sent to PUSH, it added, “With director Angelo Balanon at the helm of the visual narrative, the clip translates the very essence of the song with cosmopolitan, movie-like sheen that is at par with K-Pop and J-Pop music videos.”

Released under Sony Music, KAIA’s debut single is available via digital streaming platforms worldwide.
