The local edition of the reality show Drag Race officially revealed its host on Tuesday, July 12.

Paolo Ballesteros, a drag artist himself, has been named as the main host of Drag Race Philippines which will air on Discovery+ Philippines.

“Halleloo huns, come through! Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent sashay their way to discovery+ with the multi-talented artist Paolo Ballesteros as fab host. We’re screaming, sists!” Discovery+ Philippines wrote in a tweet.

The US franchise, arguably one of the most popular drag race shows globally, is hosted by RuPaul Andre Charles, who is more known just as RuPaul.

“Here she is. Ayan ...Masaya na kayo... malapit na!!!!” Jiggy wrote in a tweet.

Like its American counterpart, Drag Race Philippines will feature an “Untucked” segment — a first in the franchise outside the US — showing unfiltered behind-the-scenes footage.

Various Filipino drag queens have joined the US franchise of the show including Ongina, Manila Luzon, Jiggly Caliente, Phi Phi O’Hara, Vivienne Pinay, and Rock M. Sakura.

Outside the US, Jaja and Mocha Diva joined Drag Race Thailand and Kyne, Stephanie Prince, and Kimmy Couture participated in Canada’s Drag Race franchise.

Drag Race Philippines will air on August 17.
