South Korean boy group MONSTA X has decided that they will be continuing their group activities as five of the members renewed their exclusive contract with their label, Starship Entertainment.

Meanwhile, lead rapper and youngest member, I.M, decided to not renew with his former agency but it won’t affect his participation in the group activities of the boy group.

“Starship Entertainment recently renewed contracts with five of our agency artist MONSTA X’s members Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and Jooheon. As all six members still have unchanging affection for MONSTA X and MONBEBE, we have come to a mutual agreement for I.M to continue together for future group activities,” Starship Entertainment said.

Despite leaving the agency, Starship Entertainment assured MONBEBEs that I.M will be included in the future group activities. For the entertainment agency, the years leading up to contract renewal was enough to build the trust on their partnership.

“We have had sincere discussions with I.M, but our exclusive contract with him will unfortunately come to an end. We express deep gratitude for I.M’s hard work, efforts, and devotion over the years. We will cheer on and support I.M’s future activities and his new path,” the statement continued.

Meanwhile, MONSTA X is back from their one-month break and are preparing for their individual and group activities.

MONSTA X debuted back in 2015 with their song “Trespass”. Formerly a seven-piece act, former member Wonho left the group in 2019 following controversies that surrounded him. MONSTA X continued with six members and have been performing world tours since then.
