Global superstar Taylor Swift shocked the fans of The 1975 when she made a surprise performance at the band's At Their Very Best concert at the O2 Arena in London on January 12.

Taylor made an entrance via a door of the band's house-themed stage design much to the surprise of the crowd before performing two songs.

"Is it okay if I sing?" Taylor asked the crowd.

The singer first performed an acoustic version of her hit single "Anti-Hero" off her blockbuster album Midnights. It was the first time that Taylor performed the song live.

"I was thinking of doing [something] I never played live before. It would be so presumptuous to say, 'If you know it, sing it!' But if you do, sing it," Taylor said.

After "Anti-Hero," Taylor performed The 1975's single "The City."

"Good evening! Hope you enjoy the rest of The 1975 At Their Very Best [show]," Taylor told the crowd after her performance.

The 1975 is currently on their At Their Very Best tour in the UK and Ireland following the release of their hit album Being Funny in a Foreign Language last year.

Back in November 2022, The 1975 lead singer Matty Healy revealed that they worked with Taylor for material on her tenth studio album Midnights but it did not make the cut.

"We actually worked a bit on that but then the version of it never came out," Matty said in an interview in KROQ's Klein/Ally Show for Audacy's DTS Sound Space in November last year.

Meanwhile, Taylor herself will embark on a tour this year. She will kickstarting her "The Eras Tour" in Arizona this March.

"I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!" Taylor announced on her Instagram page in November.

Taylor released her tenth studio album Midnights in October of last year.

"Midnights is a wild ride of an album and I couldn’t be happier that my co pilot on this adventure was @jackantonoff. He’s my friend for life (presumptuous I know but I stand by it) and we’ve been making music together for nearly a decade HOWEVER… this is our first album we’ve done with just the two of us as main collaborators," Taylor posted upon the release of the hit record.

"We’d been toying with ideas and had written a few things we loved, but Midnights actually really coalesced and flowed out of us when our partners (both actors) did a film together in Panama. Jack and I found ourselves back in New York, alone, recording every night, staying up late and exploring old memories and midnights past... Midnights is a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows. Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely. Just like Midnights," she added.

The album debuted at the US Billboard 200 and sold 1.578 million equivalent album units on its first week of release.

Taylor also made history as the first artist to occupy the top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100 with the tracks from Midnights.
