After her portayal of the beloved Pinoy superhero Darna onscreen, Mars Ravelo’s Darna lead actress Jane de Leon said that there is a lot more to the show than what people see onscreen, including having different variations of the Darna costumes on standby.

“We have 16 costumes. Ang hirap. it’s very hard kasi merong pang-beauty shots tapos meron ding pang-harness. Ang madugo talaga kapag harness. Kasi iba’t ibang harness ang meron kami. Siguro dun talaga kami tumagal. With makeup and costume, one hour, ganyan.

Having to do fight scenes for both her dual roles as Narda and Darna was also an added challenge for Jane, who has been working on the series since 2019 when she was first announced to replace Liza Soberano who was initially chosen for the role.

“Actually ang hirap kasi dual role siya. Si Narda kasi nag-a-action rin siya not like with other Nardas before. Ang pagkakaiba nila, si Darna talagang meron siyang super strength. And because of my mom Leonor, na-train kaming dalawa ni Ding. Kaya naming makipaglaban,” she said.

Una sa lahat, yung mga taong naging parte sa buhay ko ngayon, mapa-director, staff, mga co-artists ko. Yung friendship hindi ko makakalimutan yun. And siyempre, yung mga galos ko sa katawan ko. Sabi ko nga, pumasok ako sa Darna na makinis yung balat ko. Lumabas ako na puro bugbog yung katawan ko (laughs). Before Darna, nag-Ang Probinsyano ako. Si Coco (Martin) yung nagsabi sa akin na, ‘Jane, normal lang maaksidente. So pagpasok mo ng Darna, marami pa yan.’ So yun na nga. Marami na nga yung na-experience ko (laughs),” she recalled.

Tapos tumagos siya sa tuhod ko so dugo siya ng dugo kasi sobrang sakit kasi sa may buto na siya banda. Pinipilit kong hindi umiyak, nagpapaka-strong ako pero ang sakit talaga so tinakbo ako ng ER for anti-tetanus.
