Niño Muhlach credits financial success to his father: ‘He looked out for my future’

Former child star Niño Muhlach shared that it was his father Alexander Muhlach who built the foundation on why he is now a successful entrepreneur as well as why he is financially stable. 

In an interview with Karen Davila, Niño shared that his father invested his earnings when he was still a child actor. He now owns a building and within that building is his bakeshop, which sells the popular Muhlach ensaymada. 

"Nagpapasalamat lang talaga ako because my dad was always there to guide me. Inayos nya po 'yung buhay ko eh. May building kami and lahat ng pelikula ko kami nag-produce so lahat ng kinikita nun may royalty po ako," he shared.

He further said: "Siya po 'yung nag-start ng trust fund para sa mga bata. I really owe everything to my dad. He really looked out for my future."

Niño also said that his father kept his feet on the ground, constantly reminding him that popularity was not forever so he needed to prepare for the future.

"Tsaka 'yung daddy ko po at the height of my popularity, lagi niyang pinapaalala sa akin na 'Nino darating ang araw na mawawala lahat 'yang kasikatan mo na 'yan. So pagdumating ang araw na 'yun dapat handa ka,'" he stated.

"Kaya I was always prepared. Talagang consistent 'yun lagi niyang pinapaalala," he said.

Niño's bakeshop is already celebrating its 30th anniversary. 

When asked how was the transition from an actor to an entrepreneur, Niño confessed that it was not easy.

"Siyempre po [mas mahirap]. This is an everyday commitment. Siyempre dapat mas malaki 'yung pumapasok kaysa lumabalabs. Siyempre 'yung produkto mo dapat masarap," he said.

Though he is no longer as active in showbiz as he was before, Niño is still doing projects in the entertainment industry. 

He is set to celebrate his 50th anniversary in show business.

"Siguro I think it is something to be proud of because not everyone can say that they have been in showbiz for 50 years," he said.
