Richard Gutierrez proud of ‘The Iron Heart’ finale: ‘We’re going to give our best!’

<p>As the action drama series <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/theironheart"><em><strong>The Iron Heart</strong></em></a><em><strong></strong> </em>enters its finale week, actor Richard Gutierrez said he is proud of the way they mounted the show.</p><div><span style="background-color:transparent">“We tried to tell our story the way we want to attack it, not just in a typical way attacking a teleserye or a TV series in the Philippines. Pag malungkot ka, ‘di ka naman palaging umiiyak ‘di ba? We wanted to show different style in a more male-centric story and telling it on our characters, and makikita niyo ‘yan until the end and meron pang mga plot twist na dapat abangan. Brace yourselves. </span></div><div><span style="background-color:transparent">“Sabi nga ni Jake (Cuenca), we have this one big mission left. And we are going to a make a worthwhile for the audiences, definitely, we are going for the best, The usual <em>Iron Heart </em>but expect fireworks. We’re going to give our best on this one and will surprise a lot of people also. We shot the tail end of the show and pati kami natuwa at naging proud sa magiging ending ng show. And as Apollo, grabe rin ‘yong journey ng character. Talagang napiga rin ako rito kasi ang daming pinagdaanan ng character. Basically ‘yong time constraints, of course were trying to do action sequences and if the best time of action that we can do and get the number of sequences each taping day. There’s a lot of challenges, kung tinatanong mo ay isang particular challenge, I can’t really pinpoint one particular challenge na nangyari sa amin but I guess, like what we said kanina... </p><p>“The beginning of the show, we were given a month to shoot before airing. And then high expectations, we had high expectations for ourselves, the rest of the directors, the actors, we wanted to give our best and it was an upbeat challenge from the very beginning. And then we started to get our groove, and just like Jake said, we became fans of our show, we believed in the show, we believed in each other that we can push through and carry on, and it’s really the teamwork that made the dream work. So ‘yon ‘yong nangyari sa amin,” he recalled.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2023/5/5/jake-cuenca-speaks-up-on-real-score-with-chie-filomeno-1530"><strong>READ: Jake Cuenca speaks up on real score with Chie Filomeno</strong></a></div><p>During the show’s almost one-year run, Richard shared all the effort the rest of the cast and production put into the series to make it an epic viewing experience.</p><p>“Ang daming memories eh. Sobrang daming memories. Siyempre we have memories with different people on the set, different locations, the experience of filming, the experience of behind the cameras. It’s hard to pick just one. It was really the journey, the journey of the show, and it’s for the rest of my life.</p><p>“Jake said ‘noh, no’ng simula we weren’t favored you know, so we had to earn it. We dedicated everything for the show, sacrificed a lot, and I’m sure the crew, the people behind the camera, they all sacrificed for the show. Everybody sacrificed. And hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yong whole journey from the beginning the started we filmed from day one to where we are now. It was just... it was a nice story. It’s a story I can tell my kids. It’s a story I can pass on my peers and younger actors. It’s really the journey of the show that I’ll remember forever,” he explained.</p><p>During the finale presscon for the show, Richard shared how thankful he is that the show exceeded everybody’s expectations in extending another season.</p><p>“When we were starting to discuss the season 2, that was the beginning of signs, ‘Oh, wow, they want to extend our show,’ and then we had the Italy trip. You know, they gave us an Italy shoot and extension of our season 2. That’s when we realized na ‘Oh, we are doing something great for the company. We are doing something good in the company.’</p><p>“And then you know I asked our producers, how we’re doing with the advertisers and everything and everyone’s very happy, even the finance department are happy, the way the shows performs in that department. I also asked about that and everybody’s happy for the show, so nakakaproud na parang maybe we were not in favor in the beginning but God definitely favored us. So ayun, that’s the most important,” he admitted.</p>
