If there is a role that he wants to try next, Korean actor Ahn Hyo Seop shared that he aspires to portray a role that mirrors his present age.

"There are a lot of roles that I haven't been able to try yet so I couldn't say specifically which one I want to try. But I think I have the thought of I want to try the roles that suit my current age," he said in an interview with the Philippine media on October 7, Saturday ahead of his BENCH fan meeting.

He added: "And you see as I get older, I can try action roles too, or other genres too. But of course regardless of genre, I wanna try any role."

When asked if there is a specific genre that he prefers more, Hyo Seop replied: "I don't think I could be specific about it. Whenever I chose a new project I think regardless of the genre, I think and I try to feel if this project itself pulls me in. That's why I think that whatever project I'm working on right now, I think this will be my favorite genre at the moment."

"But I think the romantic-comedy [genre] in Business Proposal was very fun too. And I think right now I would love to try another romantic-comedy project," he said.

On preparing for a role, Hyo Seop shared that his process usually involves studying the backstory of the character.

"I first [study] the history of the character beginning in his past up to the present. I also try to use this as an opportunity to calculate how this person came to be to have this character at the present."

"And after getting into the character, I try to think about the physical appearance of how this character would look like. And I think this is possible through the help of the director and the different makeup team and the other staff too," he added.

Hyo Seop starred in numerous series throughout his career like the hit series Business Proposal. He is currently starring in the Netflix show A Time Called You.

When asked how was the experience doing Business Proposal, he shared that from the first time he read the script, he was already drawn to it as he thought it would give joy the audience.

"When I first received the script, I sat down and at that moment I read the whole script right away. And I got to feel while reading the script that I was really into the story. And it made me think that I hope the people through this project can feel the happiness inside the project, and also forget about the different worries that they go through in life," he said.

Meanwhile, when it comes to shooting his recent project A Time Called You, Hyo Seop shared that the cast and crew had to carefully study the time slips in the story to deliver the narrative effectively.

"There were a lot of times that together with me, together with the director, and cast members, there were times that they are going to review and study what we are going to do. So from time to time, when I am doing the scene, I have to think why [is my character] like this? Why I am doing this, so I go back to my room and try to review again, why [is my character] like that," he shared.
