<p>Director and screenwriter Irene Villamor shared the inspiration behind her latest movie <em>Five Breakups and a Romance.</em></p><p>&quot;It&#x27;s really a concept I got from an essay na nabasa ko about different kinds of breakups and then it started with the challenge of how many ways to break a heart,&quot; she said in an interview with CNN Philippines.</p><p>According to Irene, she wanted to push herself more as a storyteller with this film.</p><p>&quot;I&#x27;ve done love stories so what&#x27;s gonna be new about this story? Also I believe on the script na parang magja-jive &#x27;to, they will connect somehow. She shared that they underwent different processes in breathing life to the film.</p><p>&quot;We started with script readings and workshop. And it&#x27;s really the friendship. Also talking about personal things, &#x27;yung paano mo ma-apply to this performance. The learning siguro is how long?&quot;</p><p>When asked what movie she aspires to do next after <em>Five Breakups and a Romance</em>, she replied: &quot;Siguro sabi ko I&#x27;d like to do action kung kaya and then meron akong isa pang dream na may gusto kong gawin, secret pa. Still a dream. I want to do something with Judy Ann (Santos), Claudine (Barretto), sana sila.&quot;</p>
