Park Seo-joon on visiting PH anew: ‘Everyone is welcoming’

Park Seo-joon was ecstatic to return to the Philippines for his fan meeting at the Big Dome on Saturday, October 14 for IAM Worldwide presented by Wilbros Live. 

In an interview with the Philippine press, Seo-joon expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome he received from his fans upon his return to the country.

"Being able to see how everyone is welcoming, I am really happy. And also I can really say that the reason why I am able to stand and sit here with you is for [the] opportunity to meet my fans once again," he said via a translator. 

When asked which places in the country he would like to visit given the chance, he replied: "Actually a few years back, I was able to visit Cebu and this is actually a very memorable time for me. And recently I was able to go on different vacations so I would also love to visit different tourists and vacation spots [here]."

The South Korean superstar also talked about his acting career. On what type of projects he would want to do next, he replied that he is open to doing any genre. 

He also shared that he wants to focus on acting at the moment and he does not consider pursuing other creative pursuits.

"Since there are a lot of different genres that exist, I really cannot say specifically that I wanna try this specific genre. And of course the thing that I love the most doing is acting so at the moment I haven't thought of trying other endeavors yet," he stated.

Seo-joon also shared his process when it comes to portraying a character in his projects.

"First when I receive a scenario for a new project, I first try to look and take the information I can get from that. However, once I see some missing spots, as an actor I think it is my responsibility to fill it up myself," he said.

The actor further explained: "Let's say if I receive a role as a 35-year-old doctor, in the scenario itself I only get to check and know if he's already a doctor but for me, as an actor, it is my responsibility to try to think processes or how he  became as a doctor and what he went through so this is what I think about in a scenario."

Seo-joon relayed that fans can look forward to seeing him in an upcoming Netflix series titled Gyeongseong Creature.

"I have this upcoming new series on Netflix which is called Gyeongseong Creature.  We have been shooting this project for the past two years completing season one and two so I am sure that we will get to see each other again in December," he said.
