"It was definitely interesting."

These were the words of Juan Karlos when asked about his reaction to his song "Ere" entering the Spotify Global Charts on October 8.

In an interview with Billboard Philippines, the singer shared that he didn't anticipate reaching such a milestone.

"I didn’t really expect much from the whole thing. I really just focused on making music and that’s really about it. And for me, once a song is out, it’s not mine anymore. I don’t have anything to do with it anymore," he said.

Juan Karlos added: "It’s really nice and I’m just really proud of the people I worked with in making the album and project."

"Ere" became the first Filipino song to debut on the Spotify Global Charts.

The song landed in the No. 177 spot with 1.22 million streams, according to Chart Data on October 8.

Meanwhile, on October 9, Chart Data PH announced that with an astounding 1.393 million streams in a single day, Juan Karlos' "Ere" set a new all-time record in the history of Spotify Philippines charts.

He surpassed the previous record held by Taylor Swift's "Mine (Taylor's Version)."

"Ere" is part of the recent album of Juan Karlos titled Sad Songs and Bullsh*t Part 1.

In a past interview with CNN Philippines, the singer relayed the he made the album as he went through a breakup.

"I've gone through [it], everybody goes through it and parang for me it so happened na I write music and it became parang word vomiting, putting melodies in all these emotions that I had at that time," he said.

In the same interview, the singer shared that he decided to put out the first part of the album as he was able to produce 18 songs for the record.

"Because 18 songs are way too many songs to put in one album, that's why we kinda decided that we release the first half now and then 'cause at the same time my schedule is kinda crazy. So we also don't have enough time to be able to finally finish the second part," he shared.
