British singer Adele revealed that she officially bid her farewell to drinking alcohol.

While performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the 35-year-old singer opened up about her journey to sobriety.

Adele was chatting with a beverage-consuming concertgoer about their “pint of whiskey sour” when she said that she “stopped drinking quite a while ago.”

“It feels like forever. Maybe like three and a half months ago?" Adele shared.

The singer also said that she found it “boring” before she revealed: “I mean, I was literally a borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my twenties.”

She went on: “I  miss it so much, I cut out caffeine, so enjoy your whiskey sour, I'm very, very jealous.” which made her audience laugh out loud.

In an interview with US Vogue last October 2021, the Grammy-winning singer shared that she became a ”seven-nights-a-week wine drinker” during the lockdown.

She also revealed that her drinking habit tends to become “earlier and earlier” each day.

She said: “My first emergency run at the grocery store was for Whispering Angel and ketchup. She jokingly added: “Whispering Angel turned me into a barking dog. It did not make me whisper.”

“I’ve always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It’s what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it," she continued.

She then said that she quickly became aware of how “different characters come out when drunk” which will make her vulnerable to the media and make a story out of it.

“They descend, and descend, and descend on you, which drives you fucking mad," she said.

The "Easy On Me" singer also spoke in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 about how she was “probably keeping the alcohol industry alive” after her divorce from her ex-husband in 2019

Adele was in a relationship with entrepreneur Simon Konecki whom she met in 2011. The two have one son who was born in 2012.

As per The Guardian, the British singer also told Oprah that she had stopped drinking after her estranged father died in May 2021.

“That’s one great way of really sort of getting to know yourself, is just drinking water and being sober as anything," she said.

Meanwhile, the singer's Weekends with Adele residency show will conclude on November 4.
