Krystal portrays the role of Julia––a girl from the 1970s who caught the eyes of the young Leo. Her role played a pivotal part in discovering the truth being hidden from the present Leo.

She shared that she had no time to prepare before her audition and had to flesh out her character along the way as they only had two months before the show. The Star Magic talent added that the biggest challenge she faced was learning the language that was spoken back in the ‘70s which isn't being used in today’s setting.

“I think the biggest challenge [for me] was yung speaking in a way [ng parang sa] past. It’s not really the normal Tagalog that we have now so I have to learn about a few words from the past. That was my only challenge for my role,” she added.

The musical also marked Krystal’s return to theater acting after being gone for several years. Her last work on stage was The Sound of Music staged at Solaire when she was only 11 years old.

The 16-year-old continued to share how grateful she is for the opportunity given to her by the musical. She shared that the play piqued her interest after seeing its interesting plot.

“I was really interested in the fact na it was multi generational ‘cause it’s not the usual musical you see nowadays. I really want to come back to theater since I haven’t done it in awhile. This is like my comeback for my theater [journey],” she shared.

Krystal also hoped that others would love theater as much as she does as it’s the one thing that has everything she loves––dancing, acting, and singing.
