Beauty queen Bella Ysmael shares experience having acne and scars

<p>Even beauty queens experience their fair share of skin issues. So as I grew up, of course, it healed, but it left a lot of scarring and that was something that I was really insecure about,” she began. </p><p>Fortunately for Bella, she said she was able to find the right treatment to address her insecurities. This made her more confident.</p><p>     “It was [in] some way, kind of made me feel a little bit more confident, knowing that there’s a treatment that really helps me target my insecurities, you know, like we’re all about bettering ourselves and feeling good about ourselves, so that’s really something that helped me,” she remarked. </p><p>Saying that it started when she hit the puberty stage, Bella said: “It’s rare that I get acne still that grows on my back, but of course, the scarring is still there. It is a work in progress.&quot; </p><p>&quot;I go back [to the dermatology clinic] at least, probably around … every two weeks or once a month just to get the maintenance, to make sure that we’re constantly cleaning it because that’s really the most important part,&quot; she added. </p><p>“Some people have it [scar] on the face. So personally, skin care is one of the things that I make sure I do because not only does it help me feel more beautiful, but it also helps me feel like I’m really taking care of myself and that’s like a form of self-love that I feel like we should all seek,&quot; she said. </p><p>Speaking of self-love, Bella, who is an advocate of mental health, also talked about the importance of taking care of one’s mental well-being.</p><p>“I’m an advocate for it in a sense that it’s one of the most important things to me. I am the type of person that if I am not in a good mental state, it’s hard for me to function, so it’s something that I really make sure that I take care of,&quot; she said. </p><p>Sharing her favorite self-care routine, she said: “Going to Avignon [Clinic]… Getting my nails done, getting my lashes done… Those little things – they really contribute to helping me feel overall healthy. Mentally healthy.”   </p><p>As to what’s keeping Bella busy nowadays, she said that she is “mostly a content creator” who has been managing some businesses, including her own swimwear line and ballet school.  </p>
