Linlang director Jojo Saguin admitted in an interview with PUSH that she was pleasantly surprised with Kapamilya actress Kaila Estrada after working with her on the series. She shared how well Kaila portrayed her role in the highly-anticipated 14-episode show.

Kaila plays the role of Sylvia Lualhati, the loyal wife of Alexander Lualhati (portrayed by JM De Guzman).

The director added how satisfied she was with how Kaila was able to deliver the needed emotions for the series. She shared that Kaila was totally different from her character which was why she was stunned to see how the latter acted with her veteran co-actors.

“Wala sa character niya. It’s my first time to work with her kasi I’ve worked with Paulo (Avelino), JM, and Kim (Chiu). Especially sa character niya, nabigla ako kung paano niya ginawa yung role niya,” she added.

During the special preview of the show, Kaila’s character was portrayed as someone who was submissive to JM’s role. Her character would later escalate and prove her worth after finding out the secret that her husband has been hiding from her through the years.

Despite it being their first time to work with one another, director Jojo added she was happy with how Kaila showed her acting prowess.

“Very satisfied,” she added.

Meanwhile, Linlang airs on Prime across 240 countries worldwide. Two episodes will be released every week for seven weeks and will only be available on Prime.

Apart from Kaila and JM, the 14-part series stars Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, Maricel Soriano, Ruby Ruiz, and Anji Salvacion, among others. The series revolves around finding the truth behind the deceptions of the characters of Kim, JM, and Paulo.

Linlang is co-directed by FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin.
