Jennie of BLACKPINK released her new single "You & Me" on Friday, October 6.

According to a report by allkpop, YG decided to release the song as they want to extend their thanks to the fans who supported the group's world tour.

"We decided to officially release it out of gratitude to the fans who ardently followed and supported us during the 'Born Pink' world tour. We hope it will serve as a special memento, rekindling the emotion of that time," the agency said in a statement.

The K-Pop idol first debuted the song during the BLACKPINK’s Born Pink World Tour. A remix version of the track was also performed by Jennie when BLACKPINK became a headliner at Coachella 2023.

In a previous interview for Dua Lipa's At Your Service podcast, Jennie remarked that being a headliner at Coachella was an emotional experience.

"I think it was my first time crying just as soon as I was off stage. It was so emotional, like, I was so proud, the hard work that we put on and just the overwhelming feeling that we got from the crowd… it was just a lot of emotions," she said.

Jennie previously released a solo single back in 2018 titled "Solo."

Meanwhile, in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar Korea, Jennie teased that she is working on her upcoming solo album.

"I’m making it the most like Jennie and unique to Jennie. Please look forward to it!" she teased about the upcoming record.
