American actor Taylor Lautner has reacted to being called "Taylor Swift’s best ex”.

 In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE magazine at The Lemons Foundation 1st Charity Gala in West Hollywood last November 12, Taylor reacted to how Swifties, Taylor Swift’s fans, called him.

“Sounds like a nice compliment to me,” the actor said. “I will take it.”

Lautner and Swift met on the set of the movie, Valentine's Day, where they played high school sweethearts. The two dated for a few months back in 2009.

Fans believed that the Speak Now hit track, "Back To December", was actually dedicated to the actor.

The song's message was very different from all the other breakup anthems that Swift has written and sung. 

Fans also believed that the song was really for him as it described his “tan skin” and “sweet smile” as well as noted the month of December where the two were confirmed to have officially broken up.

The Twilight alum starred in a music video for Swift’s song from the vault, "I Can See You," a track from a re-recorded version of the Speak Now (Taylor's Version) album in July this year.

The 33-year old actor, together with actress Joey King and musician Presley Cash, was invited to join Swift on the stage to celebrate the music video premiere at the Eras Tour stop in Kansas City, Missouri.

During the interview, Lautner also talked about  about his wife, Taylor Dome, who is actually a diehard Swiftie.

“She let me know that I'm the only ex without a diss track now. So that sounds like a nice thing. I'll take it and run. No complaints here.”

 His 26-year-old wife also shared, “In my mind they're not even exes,” and the couple addresses the singer as “our friend.”

The couple just celebrated their first wedding anniversary last November 12.

When asked about his thoughts on global pop icon’s recognition and success, the actor said, “She deserves everything that she is getting and going through right now because she's the hardest-working person.”

He added, “And just being at the pinnacle that she's at right now, the way that she carries herself and is just so gracious and kind to absolutely everyone, no matter who you are, it speaks to her character. And that's the greatest part about her in my opinion.”

Swift is currently on the South American leg for her record-breaking and sold out concert, The Eras Tour.

During the Argentina leg, her current beau, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, was present and supported the 33-year-old star.

Swift also made fans squeal as she changed a line from her song “Karma” to refer to Travis, marking the two as an official couple.

After the show, Swift was also filmed running down to him and giving him a sweet kiss.
