The official trailer of Madame Web, a new movie from the Spider-Man Universe set to premiere next year, has officially been released. 

Based on Marvel Comics, the upcoming film stars Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson as 'Madame Web', a paramedic who gains the ability to see the future after an accident. She soon discovers that she can also change the future.

In the trailer, we see Dakota's character, Cassandra Webb, accompanied by actresses Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O'Connor as they try to understand why Cassandra has the ability to see the future and how they are all connected. 

Meanwhile, Tahar Rahim plays the role of Ezekiel Sims, Madame Web's nemesis and the story's villain. He chases after Dakota's character and causes chaos in the city. He is also described as Cassandra's mom's partner, who was researching spiders in the Amazon when she was killed. Additionally, he also has clairvoyant abilities. 

The movie also stars Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Emma Roberts, who is making her first appearance in a superhero film. The trailer features Billie Eilish's "Bury A Friend" and shows the cast fighting and running through eerie diners, train stations, and all over New York City.

“If you wanna live, you have to trust me,” Madame Web said in the almost 3-minute movie trailer.

Directed and co-written by SJ Clarkson and screenplay by Claire Parker, Madame Web is distributed in the Philippines by Columbia Pictures, the local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. 

The story will follow Cassandra Webb’s life before she ends up in a wheelchair in the comic version.

“I have always really loved Marvel movies. Madame Web was very enticing to me,” Dakota shared in an interview posted on the movie’s official Instagram account.

The actress then described her character, saying: “She’s hyper-intelligent and her greatest superpower is her mind.”

Director SJ Clarkson, on the other hand, said: “Madame Web is unlike any other superhero. When you think about how Spiderman flies through the air or Venom when he changes, it’s so mystical to us, but with her, it’s all psychological." 

“I found that so very exciting to explore.”

According to Elle magazine, the film is scheduled for release on February 14, 2024, which is Valentine's Day. However, there is still no official confirmation of the release date as of now.
