Actress Isabelle Daza has finally met Elvie Vergara, the household helper who became partially blind after allegedly suffering mistreatment at the hands of her employers.

On Instagram, Isabelle said she met with Vergara to personally hand her a check amounting to ₱1,000,000, which she was able to raise through her fundraising campaign for the 44-year-old maid beginning last September.

In the caption of her post, Isabelle thanked everyone who donated, saying their contribution, however small, has helped change a life.

“Finally was able to give the money to Elvie Vergara herself. A total of ₱1,000,000 in a Manager’s check… To those who donated you have helped change a life, and thank you for trusting me that I wouldn’t scam you lol,” she wrote.

She also shared a photo of her and Elvie on her Instagram Stories.

“Elvie Vergara, the story where she lost her eyesight from her alleged abusers which were her employers. The case is ongoing. But because of your generous hearts we were able to give her approximately ₱1,000,000 (approx $18,000 usd),” said Isabelle.

“I wanted this whole thing to be transparent as a thank you to all those who trusted me with this money,” she added. “Pls donate to the Belle travel fund next. Lol love you guys!”

Earlier, the actress said she was launching a fundraiser for Vergara to help her live a life free from abuse and "without having to worry about what she will eat the next day or if she have enough money to live with basic needs like housing, food, and medical assistance."

At that time, Isabelle thanked her friends who contributed to campaign, including Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff, Liz Uy, Mond Gutierrez, Vicki Belo, and her own mother, Gloria Diaz.
