ABS-CBN’s ‘The Bagman’ set to launch at ATF in Singapore

<div><strong><span style="color:black;background:white"></span></strong><span style="color:black;background:white"></span></div><div><span style="color:black;background:white">ABS-CBN is set to launch the spin-off of its original digital series <em>Bagman</em> at this year’s Asia TV Forum and Market (ATF) in Singapore.</span></div><div><span style="color:black;background:white"> </span><span style="color:black;background:white">Reprising his role as Benjo Malaya, Kapamilya actor, politician and star of the series Arjo Atayde is reportedly attending the event to promote the co-production, <em>The Bagman</em>.</span></div><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fabscbnpr%2Fposts%2Fpfbid07qUdXWfS2ma5TAp3NwySAQCnFsi5F79yRkoZ5J2fgk2Cwg9zmGdhmM744FHdUekgl&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=500" width="500" height="497" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><span style="color:black;background:white"> </span><span style="color:black;background:white">The 33-year-old star who won Best Actor at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his role on the show, previously starred in an Amazon Prime Video hit crime thriller series<em> Cattleya Killer</em> and award-winning and internationally acclaimed movies including <em>BuyBust</em> and <em>Topakk </em>(international name Triggered).</span></div><p><span style="color:black;background:white"> </span><span style="color:black;background:white">As per </span><em>Variety Magazine, </em>the new series is intended as an international co-production including ABS-CBN International Productions, Nathan Studios, Rein Entertainment, and Dreamscape Entertainment.</p><div><span style="color:black;background:white"> </span><span style="color:black;background:white">The spinoff will also star 78th Venice International Film Festival best actor John Arcilla, who played Sisoy Salas in Erik Matti’s <em>On The Job 2: The Missing 8</em> in 2021 and 41st Cairo International Film Festival best actress Judy Ann Santos, who played Saima Datupalo in Brillante Mendoza’s 2019 film <em>Mindanao</em>. </span></div><div> <span style="color:black;background:white"><em>The Bagman</em> is set to begin its production in January 2024 and will be an eight-part drama series with one hour each episode. </span></div><div><span style="color:black;background:white"> </span><span style="color:black;background:white">“Having initially announced <em>The Bagman</em> in March of this year, the timing could not be better to now be offering worldwide sales at ATF for our suspenseful, gripping, and fast-moving drama series,” said Ruel S. As he faces the consequences of his actions, he learns the tragic news about his missing family, making him return to the vicious underworld life that he turned his back on.</span><span style="color:black;background:white"></span></div><div><span style="color:black;background:white">Benjo will then take on a new mission once again as a bagman for the sitting president of the Republic of the Philippines to stop an impending civil war.</span></div>
