Filipino American and Crazy Rich Asians actor Nico Santos officially tied the knot with his longtime boyfriend, television star Zeke Smith, last November 4 in Palm Springs, California.

Zeke said in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE ahead of their wedding that the two stars being together for years “is as same as they were already being married.” He expressed that “actually having the ceremony and making it legal, is about becoming a family.”

“We're in it forever. Through thick and thin and easy and hard. We're going to be the person that's there for the other one.”

Nico added, "Weddings and getting married, I never thought this would be part of my life.”

The 35-year-old two-time Survivor contestant also noted, “[marriage] wasn't a reality for us until less than 10 years ago. It wasn't something really, once we understood ourselves to be queer, we thought (it) was part of our timeline," he continued. “But now that we've done all this planning and the meaning and the significance of the day is dawning upon us, I'm just really excited."

As per PEOPLE, since the couple came from different places, “they incorporated their ceremony with ‘natural woven accents that evoked Filipino design aesthetics to reflect Santos' background while elements including leather, fringe and Western movie-themed posters are a nod to Smith's.”

The lovely couple expressed, “despite our vastly different upbringings and life stories, we’ve found a home within each other."

The 44-year-old Superstore and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 actor wore a "sassified" version of Filipino national costume Barong Tagalog, while his husband wore a rocked black lizard cowboy boots.

The wedding date and venue also tied in to Pride Weekend in Palm Springs, which the two took as a sign as they didn’t know it the first time they booked the celebration.

"It's a big gay wedding. A lot of our guests are queer as well, so we thought let's just stick to the date and have it during Pride weekend. So, it'll be extra gay," the Fil-Am actor said.

The two call their big event a “silly bougie wedding” celebration as they both work in comedy.

The entertainment website also noted that during the nuptials, “the duo incorporated a reading from Shakespeare, a veil and cord ceremony, nods to each of their cultures and the reading of iconic lines from romantic comedies.”

During their reception, the couple surprised their guests with a special performance from drag queens and performers.

"We’re both big lovers of drag and, considering its Palm Springs Pride, wanted to find a way to incorporate local drag entertainers into our wedding celebration," the couple explains.

The longtime couple got engaged in April at the 2022 GLAAD Media Awards where Zeke had a surprise proposal to Nico while the two were on stage sharing stories of how they met at the event four years ago.
