Wilma Doesnt opened up about her journey as an entrepreneur.

The Filipino model is now the owner of what she dubs as a "five-star karinderya" business called "Chicks ni Otit."

Wilma launched her business in September 2019 in Cavite. "Otit means tito, chicks siyempre ako 'yung chicks, para catchy at may brand recall," Wilma explained the inspiration behind the name of her restaurant in an episode of My Puhunan: Kaya Mo.

"Nung una natakot ako, baka after magpa-picture lang sa akin tapos hindi na babalik. But eventually because of the quality of the food, kahit wala ako, napupuno," Wilma shared.

The model-turned-entrepreneur partnered with her husband Gerick Parin in building the business.

"Hindi ako nahirapan kasi ang asawa ko dati siyang sa barko. So kusinero siya sa barko kaya if napansin mo maayos ang linya namin, naka-organize kami kasi kusinero siya ng barko. Dahil passion niya 'yun kaya sabi ko, 'Huwag ka ng umalis.' Nagkataon naman siguro talagang inaadya ng panahon, we opened 2019, hindi ko na siya pinaalis at ito na kami," she relayed.

Was she initially scared to venture into a restaurant considering she did not have the business background?

"Gusto ko iyon 'yung marami akong bisita, masarap ang pagkain ko so hindi ako natakot kasi gamit namin puso at determinasyon," she stated.

The restaurant offers an array of Filipino food including pancit lucban, inasal, liempo, ensaladang talong, sinantolan, and crispy pata, among others.

"Ang gusto kasi namin mangyari dito, we bring the provinces closer to you. Halimbawa taga-Quezon ka at nami-miss mo kumain ng pancit, punta ka sa akin kasi meron akong [pancit] habhab na tunay, ganun sya," she said.

Wilma's business has been inclusive when it comes to hiring employees. Among their staff in their restaurant business is a PWD (Persons With Disability) and a working student.

On what she thinks were the keys to her success in business, she replied: "Ako siguro ang naging puhunan ko sa sarili ko lakas ng loob, hindi ako takot magtanong. Hindi katangahan dahil nagtatanong ako. I'm curious because I want to know more at higit sa lahat hindi man halata, madasalin akong tao. Faith is always there."

Wilma recently opened a restaurant branch in Tagaytay.
