Matteo Guidicelli shared the story behind why he and his wife, Sarah Geronimo, decided to venture into farming.

The celebrity couple now owns a four-hectare farm in Paete, Laguna. 

In an interview with Karen Davila, Matteo shared: "Sometimes we have an area to detach, no signal, no electricity and back to basics so that's the whole point of this whole space. We found the space very magical."

He added: "At 'yung energy ng lugar na 'to sobrang positive ba. 'Yan 'yung dahilan kung bakit nandito tayo."

Matteo shared that the space allows them to support and empower the farmers.

"We try to teach them proper waste management, proper taking care of the space, and give them an income and all these things, and that's what we try to do for them, and help [to] give back," he said.

Aside from the farm, Matteo and Sarah had also ventured into various businesses.

"I think it's very, very important to have a diversified portfolio, but again our core business is the show business," Matteo shared.

The actor went on: "Show business is not just all about the fame or it's not all about the money that we want, it's more about the change that you can create with the perception of media kumbaga kung ano 'yung nilalabas namin, anong kanta ang nilalabas ni Sarah, anong pelikula ang nilalabas ko, ano ang ginawa natin sa mga vlogs, this inspires, makes the next person believe in something more for the next day to become a better person."

In the same interview, Matteo also shared about working on his upcoming movie Pedro Penduko, which is part of the Metro Manila Film Festival.

"I like telling stories of the Filipino culture or representing the Filipinos so nung i-nofffer 'yung Pedro Penduko, yes big title movie, MMFF, etc. but 'yung core essence ng Pedro Penduko is the Filipino story. Sana, it crosses borders and touches other Filipinos around the world, especially our kabataan," he said.
