“To the youth, let this be a testament to the power of service. Serving as a public figure, an Air Force reservist and as someone who proudly raised our flag at Miss Universe, it was truly an honor to be the ONLY woman in uniform standing proudly alongside 40 uniformed soldiers. 🫡,” she said.

The Miss Universe Philippine titleholder also expressed how everyone’s effort, either big or small, can shape the nation’s future.

“I hope this serves as a message, to embrace our roles, no matter how big or small, in shaping our nation’s future. It’s our collective effort, passion, and dedication that make the Philippines a remarkable place to call home,” she said.

Michelle ended her message with: “To the youth, dream boldly, act with purpose, and carry the Filipino spirit wherever you go. Together, we can make a difference, one salute at a time. #FILIPINAS #BAYANIHAN 🇵🇭 #mmd #michelledee.”

The actress-beauty queen attended the flag-raising ceremony at the historic Independence Flagpole and Rizal Monument at Rizal Park, Manila.

The Iron Heart actor Diether Ocampo and Penduko star Matteo Guidicelli, who are also reserve officers, attended the ceremony as well.

The flag-raising ceremony celebrates Rizal Month to honor national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Michelle said she believes that the Salute to a Clean Flag Movement is important in demonstrating patriotism for the country.

“This whole movement is so important especially in the younger generation because it sets a precedented example on how we should be very nationalistic, how we should love our country, but most especially respect it all cost,” she said.

Michelle also expressed her willingness to lend a hand and do everything to serve the country.
