Just after his 81st birthday, veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez underwent surgery to remove one of two cataracts he had.

“I woke up at 3am this morning, took a shower and prayed for Eddie’s successful cataract eye surgery scheduled at 6am today at the world-class Asian Eye Institute (Rockwell branch) with Dr. Robert Edward Ang, the best in his field,” reported his wife, talent manager Annabelle Rama, on her Instagram page last February 14, 2023.

“After 4 hours of praying and waiting, Eddie came out of the operating room with a big smile,” shared Annabelle. “His right eye can see clearly now! We will be back for the left eye.”
