“But in real life, it wasn’t luck that brought David here. It’s years of discipline with food, biomedical treatment, family love, therapies, committed teachers & God’s GRACE,” she added. “It’s so touching to hear that many are touched by David’s life & attitude - his positivity, kindness, friendliness and love. David has autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He was diagnosed with autism when he was just two-and-a-half years old. Karen has been open about her son’s diagnosis and has become a vocal advocate for autism awareness.

Aside from his job internship, David also marked a milestone in his life after he mounted his first art exhibit last May. Karen said the exhibit capped her son’s first year of taking a special visual arts course from The Vanguard Academy in Makati.
