Some people might recognize Justine for her song “Collide” which took TikTok by storm. But Justine is more than just that — she is a pure talent who has been patiently waiting to take over the world stage. Even though it may have taken her years to get there, none of it matters because her time is now.

PUSH caught up with Justine for an exclusive interview where she shared what it feels like to have made her way to the newfound popularity of her song "Collide" — which was first released in 2014 — thanks to TikTok. If you’re wondering just how massive the song is, social media influencer Niana Guerrero’s dance cover of “Collide” has amassed over 35 million views on the platform.

But did she ever expect it to be a hit 10 years later? Well, Justine said even she couldn’t believe the kind of milestone she has recently achieved in her career. But according to Justine, it all boils down to making great music — and that’s something only music gems like her can do.

“I mean, I think that for me, I’m new to all of these, too. And I think that it’s awesome, you know? ‘Collide’ came out 2014 — and for it to be 2023 now and for it to be to so many people be a brand new song, it just shows that like when music is good, it’s good — it doesn’t matter when it comes out,” she remarked.

More than the popularity, Justine said the song gave her a renewed confidence in herself to keep doing what she loves — and that’s making music.

“For me, it was like another level of confidence boost that I’m doing the right thing,” she said.

Meanwhile, Justine said she hopes people can give her new album Dark Side — a compilation of the songs she has previously released — while she works on a new album with all-new songs.

“I’m just really excited to finish up my new project. I know I just released ‘Dark Side’ — and that project is just a compilation of my favorite songs from my catalog,” she said.

“With all these new listeners, I just wanted people to get familiar with some of my favorite songs that I’ve had that are already out so that they have something to listen to as we wait for the new music,” she added.

But how did Justine choose the songs she included in Dark Side? Well, she picked the songs that she believes fans of “Collide” would definitely love to listen to — and we couldn’t agree more.

“As I listened through my previous projects, I just picked some of my favorite songs that I felt like were either my strongest vocally or lyrically. And that I felt like due to people loving ‘Collide’ so much, they would also enjoy these songs,” she said.

But what can fans expect from her in the future? According to Justine, there are definitely a lot of things in the works — including several collaborations with awesome artists.

“There’s definitely a lot more in the works as I work on this new project and I’m just really excited. The energy is great,” she said.

While working on her new album, she has also been busy filming her scenes for the Hulu series Grown-ish.

“It’s out there. And I’m excited because it’s the first time for me to be on television, on a TV show. So, that’s something that I’m working on. I’m shooting a new season of that and working on my new project and there are just so many new things in the works,” she said.

When asked if she would be visiting the Philippines anytime soon, her response was: “I would love to.” She added: “Now that I’m talking to you and hopefully, everyone that’s out there that’s listening, let’s get me out there. Let’s get the show going! Let’s talk to the team!”

Leaving a message for her fans, she said: “I just wanna say thank you guys so much for showing ‘Collide’ so much love and make sure you’re streaming Dark Side, and that new music is coming soon. Hopefully, I get out there soon.”
