She said, “The main reason was— it’s because of my mom. Because she has stage four breast cancer.</p><p>“So wala siya masyadong hair. Nung kinechemo siya, wala siya— as in, kalbo. Tapos nung tumutubo na ‘yung hair niya, maiksi na. What if the clients—gumanon sila? Kasi siyempre appearance pa rin eh. I am still an artist.</p><p>“So if hindi man ako artista or singer, papakalbo ako,” she said.</p><p>Gigi also addressed comments of people saying that she should have just revealed the real reason behind her new hairdo right away.</p><p>“Did you know that the main reason why I don’t tell anyone about that? The main reason was, ayaw kong malaman ng mom ko. Kasi baka sabihin ng mom ko gawa niya kaya ako nagpaiksi, napangitan ‘yung mga tao. Posible niya pang sabihin ‘yun.</p><p>“My mom, lagi siya se-self-pity, which is I don’t like. Kaya hindi ko sinasabi. Pero ‘nung nalaman niya ‘yun, nag-assume din kasi ako— nung nalaman niya ‘yun, umiyak siya, &#x27;Pero sana hindi mo na ginawa.&#x27; Di ba? Kasi choice nila ‘yan e… It’s your choice and you are still beautiful. Kahit anong choice mo, we are all beautiful inside and out. You just have to accept who you are.”</p><p>Meanwhile, when asked about how her mother is currently doing, Gigi said, “Okay. To be honest, hmm… she’s surviving, yeah. But… Alam mo yung tinatanggap niya na lang. But she’s still fighting you know?”</p><p>Gigi has always been vocal when it comes to how much she cares for her mother. In a previous interview, she shared how much she values bonding moments with her.</p><p>She relayed, “May mga bondings kami kahit saglit, sobrang strong ng connection namin sa isa’t isa.
