Actor Aljon Mendoza surprised his Teen Clash co-star and love team partner, Jayda Avanzado, when he asked her to be his date for the upcoming Star Magical prom which is set to happen later this month.

The former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate popped the question during the March 11 episode of It’s Showtime wherein they were promoted the new iWantTFC show.

It's Showtime host Vice Ganda asked the cast members of Teen Clash if they would be attending the Star Magical prom or if they already have a date for the evening.

Only Aljon responded differently amongst his fellow male actors as he revealed he hasn’t asked anyone to be his date yet.

The audience of the noontime show screamed in extreme excitement as Aljon entered the stage with a teddy bear as well as a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

“Actually di ko pa natatanong yung date ko. So ate Vice gusto ko itake itong opportunity ito, yung chance na ito para itanong sa kanya,” Aljon said.

The 21-year-old actor turned towards the direction of Jayda and asked her wholeheartedly if she was willing to become his prom date.

“Jayda, sabi mo hindi ka pa nagkaka-escort talaga, so, gusto ko sana na ako 'yung maging first escort mo at date. Gusto ko lang tanungin sa'yo, will you be my prom date?" he asked.

Without hesitation, the singer-actress immediately said yes as she received the gifts Aljon brought for her.

The actress, who turned 18 last year, shared that she only had a simple celebration during her debut and spent her special day surrounded only by her family.

“Simpleng birthday dinner lang po kasi 'yung lang naman po 'yung gusto ko, 'yung makasama lang po 'yung mga mahal ko sa buhay," she said.

Aljon and Jayda will be headlining the show alongside Markus Paterson, Bianca de Vera, Zach Castañeda, Gail Banawis, Ralph Malibunas, Fana, Andrea Abaya, Kobie Brown, and Luke Alford in the latest coming-of-age story of iWantTFC, Teen Clash

The series is directed by Gino M. Santos and produced by iWantTFC and Black Sheep.

Teen Clash start streaming this coming March 17 on the iWantTFC app and website.
