After holding his first successful fan meet event here in Manila last March 11, fans of the South Korean actor Lee Jae-Wook were happy to get the opportunity to spend time getting to know their K-drama idol up close.

After starting off his fan meet by performing a song on stage, the 24-year-old actor and model’s opening statement sent his fans into a frenzy (as translated into Tagalog by an interpreter), ”Sobrang tagal ko hinintay itong oras na ito kaya sana magkaroon tayo ng magandang usapan.”

During the fan meet’s kick-off segment called “Lee Jae Wook’s TMI,” the actor shared details about his life.

“It’s my first time in Manila and I’m very excited and it’s making my heart flutter,” he admitted about meeting his Pinoy fans for the first time.

Jae-Wook also shared facts about his recent travels like his earlier fan meet in Jakarta, Indonesia where he got the chance to enjoy exercising in the hotel pool.

“Sobrang nagustuhan ko sa Jakarta dahil ako rin ay mahilig mag-swimming. I really love swimming. Actually, I really enjoy skiing pero dahil sobrang busy ng schedule ko, wala ako masyadong oras para makapag-skiing.”

With the help of host Sam Oh, fans also got to discover lesser known facts about the Alchemy of Souls star like his favorite fashion style, movies, and food.

“Well to be honest, I’m not sure if I really wear good clothes. If I were to say a style of mine, I would usually color match with my shoes. I don’t think I’m that sensitive when following trends. 

“Whenever I have days off I think I watch movies all day long. Among our Korean films, we have a film titled Christmas in August and I think if you get to watch that movie, you’ll be able to smell the scent of old Korea. Hindi po ako maarte sa genre. Lahat na lang nagugustuhan ko.

“Sa food, at the moment I prefer kimchi fried rice. I tend to put a lot of sugar whenever I cook. Even if you say it’s kind of cool in the Philippines right now, I kind of feel that it’s hot here. Pero ako yung tipo ng tao na kahit gaano kainit, mas naghahanap ako ng mainit na pagkain. Ganun po ako,” he shared.

When it comes to his current playlist, Jae Wook says the song “Hidden Side” by his Alchemy of Souls co-star Hwang Min-hyunis currently on heavy rotation.

“There’s a new song by Hwang Min-hyun and I really love it. Well to be honest, hindi porke’t close kami madalas kong pinapakinggan yun. Pero yung recent album niya sobrang ganda kasi. Normally I really love listening to upbeat songs. And I also enjoy driving so I brought my drive playlist here.”

After sharing personal details about his life and career in the question and answer portion, Jae-wook also shared different kinds of life advice to fans in the audience whose questions were chosen. Five lucky guests were also able to go up on stage and get the chance to compete with Jae-Wook in a series of fun games which won them a special polaroid selfie with the actor if they beat him. Fans also received posters of Jae-Wook after the event as well as special prizes that went to lucky ticket holders.
