Turning 18 is one of the most memorable times in a young girl’s life. In the Philippines, the event is usually celebrated with grand parties. Here are some of the debutantes who wowed us with their 18th birthday celebrations.

The actress was not supposed to celebrate her 18th birthday with the traditional Filipino debut party because of the tedious planning it entailed. She opted to share her blessings instead by giving groceries to 18 people who needed them.

 Janella’s talent agency Star Magic and her mom Jenine Desiderio planned a Hollywood-inspired birthday party to surprise her. She was told that she would be performing for a birthday party for a seven-year-old girl but was surprised when she entered the well-decorated venue filled with her friends and family.

The debut took place at Palazzo Verde and had a Hollywood theme. The venue was covered with bright lights and decorated with white, black, gold, and hints of red. The actress wore a gown by Pepsi Herrera.

Francine Diaz

Dreamland

 Francine Diaz chose a more dreamy concept for 18th birthday. The debut was held a month after her actual birthday due to COVID-19 protocols but that did not stop the actress from celebrating it like a princess.

The party was held at Apogee Events and Lifestyle. Stylist Gideon Hermosa incorporated a lot of floral arrangements and soft candlelight. The ceiling was covered with cloud-like flower arrangements. The dining area was decked with white floral arrangements, beautiful candle holders, and other crystal ornaments.

To match the dreamland theme, Francine partnered up with Filipino designer Micheal Leyva who created three looks for the star. The first one was a pink ballgown with Swarovski crystals. This was followed by a Tiffany blue strapless ball gown. The actress then changed into a short feathery pink cocktail dress for the after-party.

Frankie Pangilinan

All that Jazz

Frankie Pangilinan, daughter of Megastar Sharron Cuneta and politician Kiko Pangilinan, had a jazz-themed debut. The venue at Shangri-la at The Fort was elegantly designed with black backdrops, gold fairy lights, white floral arrangements, and floral chandeliers.

Frankie stunned in a red strapless gown by Mark Bumgarner where the skirt detached to a more form-fitting dress.

The party included multiple musical and dance numbers with jazz music to match well with the debutante’s theme. She also sported a short sparkly black costume when she did her song and dance performance.

Miel Pangilinan

‘70s Disco

Frankie Pangilinans’s little sister Miel Pangilinan also had an equally extravagant celebration. Miel opted for a spunky and funky 1970s disco theme and the stylists had fun with the retro and groovy vibe.

The celebration was held at The Blue Leaf Pavilion and was styled by Gideon Hermosa. The venue was adorned with multiple disco balls and colorful arches. The dining areas were decorated with bright multi-colored floral arrangements. The lights bounced from the hanging disco balls and onto the circular dancefloor which gave it a glittery effect.

Miel’s debut outfits were not your typical grand ball gowns. The debutante wore a sequined jumpsuit and crop top with trousers by designer Jot Losa. Her outfits were also studded with Swarovski crystals.

Miel also had dance crew G-force with her as she performed for the crowd.
