Heaven Peralejo says mom diagnosed with another tumor

Heaven Peralejo has opened about the health condition of her mother, eight years after she was first diagnosed with uterine cancer. 

In a new interview with Karen Davila, the The Iron Heart actress said her mom Shiela Luanne was recently diagnosed with another tumor.

“Just this week lang po, na-diagnose na naman siya with another tumor,” Heaven revealed.

“Hindi pa nga po napa-process ng utak ko. Hindi ko pa rin po alam, kasi we’re still thinking if ipapa-surgery ba siya, kaso ayaw niya na po ng surgery. Kasi buong dibdib niya na po ‘yun. So hindi ko po alam. Parang ayaw ko po muna i-feel.”

Heaven turned emotional as she talked about her love and concern for her mother, saying she is scared of losing her.

“Of course. Like, I would do anything and everything para kay Mom, just to keep her. Kaya I’m working very, very hard kasi gusto kong ibigay sa kanya lahat ng gusto niya,” she said.

“Minsan nag-uusap kami. Sasabihin niya, ‘Oh anak, nalagay ko na sa will ko…’ Sabi ko, ‘Ha?!’ May mga ganyan nang usapan about, like, kung ano nang mangyayari afterward. And ewan ko, it’s hard for me also kasi logically kailangan kong i-face. Pero emotionally, it’s hard to accept.”

Looking back, Heaven said she tried to be strong for her mother during her fight with uterine cancer. 

“Actually ate Karen, ito ‘yung weird, nung nalaman kong may cancer siya, never akong umiyak sa harap niya. As in ‘yung best friend ko, pupunta kami ng chapel every morning habang nasa school kami. Iiyak kaming dalawa. Pero ‘pag uwi ko ng bahay dapat happy ulit ako,” she said.

Of her mother, Heaven said she is her “one true love, my soulmate.”

“’Yung pagmamahal ko po sa kanya, hindi [mapapantayan] ng kahit na sino,” she said.

In 2016, Heaven decided to leave the Pinoy Big Brother house to rush to her mother’s side after she found out that she had cancer.

Heaven’s mom was declared cancer-free in 2017.
