<p>Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray disclosed in an interview with doctor to the stars Vicki Belo that her upcoming wedding with Sam Milby is set to happen next year. The couple got engaged earlier this year which caught the netizens by surprise when they announced it on their respective social media accounts. </p><div><iframe width="962" height="541" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/v-g9e7vbyYU" title="AMBUSH! CATRIONA GRAY TALKS LIFE, CAREER, AND SAM MILBY" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Catriona didn’t disclose a specific date next year as she shared that they are currently enjoying their engagement with one another.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2023/4/11/catriona-gray-sam-milby-travel-to-japan-1043"><strong>READ: Catriona Gray, Sam Milby travel to Japan</strong></a></div><p>“Oh gosh, mga next year… I just want to enjoy this season. It’s a once in a lifetime season, so we just want to enjoy it and take our time,” she said.</p><p>The 29-year-old beauty queen recalled how it wasn’t love at first sight for her as she had known her fiancé for a long time already. </p><p>“We had a lot of mutual friends. And when I did [Binibining Pilipinas], my stylist was also his stylist. So, we had a lot of common friends. But it wasn’t until the end of 2018 where I had gone to Japan with Erickson (Raymundo) who is my mentor, [and] who happens to be Sam’s manager,” she recalled.</p><p>Catriona admitted that she felt “apprehensive” towards him as she didn’t know his true intentions back then. However, the Miss Universe 2018 winner stressed that Sam never made her feel that she was being used. </p><p>“I felt like I was so guarded and apprehensive when I first met Sam. But he is just such a gentle and patient person that he really made me feel safe with him. I never felt that he wanted to use who I was. I’m a public figure [and being] Miss Universe, there’s this kind of hesitancy if this person likes me for me, or do they just want to be associated with me, but he always made me feel safe,” she shared.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2023/2/16/sam-milby-at-catriona-gray-engaged-na-1913"><strong>READ: Sam Milby at Catriona Gray, engaged na</strong></a></div><p>Despite Catriona’s initial hesitation, Sam continued to show his true intentions which made her fall in love.  </p><p>“He never made me feel that he was trying to use [me] to his advantage, or anything. And we have such similar values, one being our faith. Two, we’re both super family-oriented that he really made an effort with my family and friends,” she added.</p><p>It was in 2020 when the couple admitted that they were seeing each other. No other details of their upcoming wedding have been shared with the public as of this writing. </p>
